Love... it's a beautiful thing, isn't it. We all like it. We all want it. We all want to be loved - whether it's by a partner, a parent, a friend or a child... or our pet, even. It's so great, in fact, that, often, wherever love rises from, or offers to meet us, we find ourselves heading in that direction. We are drawn to love. After all, we're made in God's image and He is love. LOVE is part of our DNA...!
Since asking for my heart back, I've come to fall in love with God all over again. I strayed here and there during the season without my heart. Day after day, the more I walked away from my heart and the need I may have once had for it, the harder my heart became. At times I strayed so far I half-expected God to jump down out of the heavens and thump me into eternity. I mean, I knew He wasn't like that, but still, it wasn't until I walked through this season that I came to view, even more clearly, just how much grace our beloved Father has and offers us.
God never damned me for straying. He never damned my heart. Rather, as I sat here waiting for the world to collapse about me, He found ways to reassure me that He loved me, that He understood why I responded to certain things as I did, and that His grace had me covered...
So, now that I have my heart back and found a new depth of intimacy with God, through His love, mercy, grace and patient pursuing of my affections, I gotta tell ya I LOVE HIM like you wouldn't believe! So much so I just have to tell the world about it... So, if you find my love for Him nauseating of late, what can I say - I'm in love! :D And just know that my 'sparkle' comes from "new" love... and I rejoice over it with all that I am!
Hey, if you've hardened your heart, or hid it away through fear of it suffering more pain, give it to God. He will not only take the pain away, but pour into your heart a love like you've never known before! Then we can be nauseating together! ;)
