When I was a fairly new Christian - prior to setting aside what God was speaking to my heart in order to please and pacify 'man' - God placed it on my heart that He would plant desires in my heart and then bring them to pass. On the night I believed His Spirit spoke this to mine, I shared it at a home-fellowship group, and the leader of the group introduced me to Psalm 37:4...
From that time onwards, whenever I hear this verse, I am reminded that, to me, this means, "When you're walking close to God, and enjoying His company, His will will automatically become yours (you know; as in 'two hearts will be as one'); He will plant desires in your heart, and then HE will bring them to pass - and I just have to trust Him."
It struck me tonight that this says "Take delight in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart," not "Delight yourself in SIN/FEAR/DOUBT/WORRY/ANGER/AND SO ON and He will give you the desires of your heart..." does it? :/
