My firstborn, Amanda, was around 16 years old when she learned she was not an "accident"...
Amanda was, and will always be known as my first dream come true, yet, I failed to let her know that I had planned for, and prayed for, and longed for her since I was about 11 years old, so - because I was a single mum for a long time, I suppose - she had grown up believing she was here by mistake. But she wasn't.
Even if that were true, though, even if I had "accidentally" fallen pregnant, God doesn't make "mistakes."
My mum once told me that the only child she deliberately fell pregnant with was the 6th one. The first five of us were not planned. She did not say this in a negative way, she wasn't disregarding her first 5 children, she was simply stating a fact.
I admit that I suffered many years on this earth feeling like an accident, feeling unwanted and unloved, and even though mum was not being nasty in any way in what she said, it struck me in a painful way, adding to my sense of worthlessness... But then God.
God formed me in my mother's womb. God designed me. He created me - warts and all! ;) He chose me before my mum was pregnant with me. He wanted me. He still wants me... and He used my parents to bring me into existence... He did the same with you.
He could've formed us all out of dirt, I reckon, and breathed life into us, but He figured the better way was to form us in our mother's womb then have her, and our father, to tend to our needs, in an environment that should produce intimacy and love. The perfect plan. Man and woman uniting as one, each with different characteristics of God, revealing His heart to us... At least, that was the plan. However, in this somewhat dysfunctional life many of us are left to see ourselves as accidents - or mistakes. But let it be known that NOT ONCE has God ever deemed you a mistake. He formed you. He designed you. He breathed life into you.
God wanted you, so He made you...
He still wants you... He loved you in all His perfection when He designed you, and He hasn't changed His mind on that. He still loves you with all that He is... and, oh, how He aches to be in a position (to be invited into your life) where He can reveal how dearly loved you truly are... In His love there truly is complete acceptance and a great awareness of how wanted and loved you are.
You are not a mistake... You are not an accident...
You are the reason He hasn't given up on this world...
You are His greatest creation...
