I was in church this morning, where the music wasn't behaving as it should, and when the worship leader/pastor's wife commented about it, about things that go wrong, I received a clear image of the 'wrong things' in our life being moments when God, with such a humble heart, asks, "Now can I be part of your life...?" like a child saying, "I want to play, too..."
God sees our 'wrong things' - the mishaps, our problems, that which life throws at us, stumbling blocks, etc - as the perfect opportunity to be part of our lives. He wants that. He wants to be part of our lives. He sits on the sidelines willing for us to ask Him to help. He doesn't want that we should suffer, or do things on our own.
In the depths of our woes, God is asking, "Can I be part of this, please...?" and He'll be the best, strongest player on the team - and, when He's allowed to be part of 'the game,' you'll win with ease.
When I was pondering this, I also had the thought, "If faith moves mountains, what does doubt do...?" "If faith opens a door for God to come through, what does doubt do...?" And in pondering those things, one must ask, "Who is it that has the power to use faith? the will to use doubt...? Who has the power to open a door to God, and to shut Him out...?"
God's sitting on the sideline of your life, willing for you to invite Him to 'play' this game we call life. He wants to be on your team. He wants you to win; to be the victor - because He loves you! He can cheer you on from the sidelines, and He will, if that's where you want Him, but with Him on your team, nothing or no one that comes against you can stop you from winning come the end of the game... However, He can't play without permission. And He knows that you can kick Him off the team any time you want.
I repeat: Who has the power to open a door to God, and the power to shut Him out...?
Something to think about as you play the game of Life today.
