What came to me was, "He is hinting for a hug. He's too frightened to ask for it."
How sad... :( "What is he afraid of?"
"Rejection. He wants to be hugged, but he doesn't know how to ask for it and fears the [foster] father will answer no. If the father is open to the hug, the boy will be greatly relieved and will relax into it. If the father rejects it, as the boy fears he will, the child can pretend he was being naughty and that will help hide his vulnerability, and, by this, he can feel safe again."
Through this image and insight, God would say to YOU, "You are my child. You are not a "foster child", so you need to change your mindset. Ask Me for the hug. I will give it. You won't be rejected."
Galatians 3:23-29
Children of God
23 Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.
26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptised into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Luke 11:9
Jesus said:
‘So I say to you: ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.'
