I appreciate the fact that the southern hemisphere is in a different season than the northern, so I will try to avoid the 'winter' and 'summer' day outings, and find something a little more 'mutual' instead. But the sunlight does call me.
Hmmm... the sunlight. A great place to start. :)
Natural light. There's something very spectacular about it. Have you ever noticed it? I don't mean as it falls in through your bedroom window and forces you into a new day, while you would prefer to pull the covers over your head and forget life exists. But do you ever go for a walk during the day and notice the way the sunlight hits the world about you?
I have a challenge for you. :)
Your mission if you dare to accept it, is to step outside and either go for a walk - up to half an hour, say (or at least) - and focus on nothing but the way sunlight hightlights everything around you. Morning sunlight differs greatly from the midday sun; as does the evening. Check it out. :)
It may be night time where you are now, so you have two choices - no, make that three. :)
1. Make a promise to yourself to step outside tomorrow and view the sunlight's actions... and not only make a promise to yourself, but write it down and sign it, knowing that you are doing yourself a favour to step out, and that you will achieve a sense of accomplishment on doing it - even if it's only in your backyard for 5 minutes. And knowing that if you don't do it, you will lose peace, and where peace should be a sense of misery will take its place. And you seriously don't want that misery.
2. Pen a poem or a thought about sunlight and post it in a comment below.
3. Look through your photos and find a picture that holds natural lighting, and run your eyes over it. (You're free to share it with me. I'm not sure if you can add photos in the comments below, but maybe you can add a link to it. Or you can email me on email@example.com - Either way, if you post or send an image you've taken, PLEASE write your name on the image first.) If you don't have a photo, and the previous two choices don't appeal to you, you could draw an image - or link us to 'a sunlight image' that speaks to your soul in a peaceful way.
For those of you who don't feel comfortable walking out in the world on your own, your own yard will do.
But in whatever you do, see the light. Feel it - imagine its warmth. Drink in its warmth.
Worry can wait. It will be there when you return to it. Turn it off for the time being. The world won't fall apart if you let go of that worry for a few moments. Neither will you collapse without it. Set worry aside, and feel the sunlight. Even if it is night where you are, close your eyes and imagine sunlight painting the world around you. Imagine it on your skin. Breathe it in... and watch your soul grasp for the peace being offered to you...
