My Beloved Calls
by
Donna Keevers Driver
He calls to me
upon breath of life,
a whisper
a plea
a wistful sigh.
I catch my breath
I close my eyes;
My Beloved calls
and I reply:
"O Lover, known to me
through love and truth,
Seeker of my heart
from my youth,
here I am, my Love
Yours to behold;
To You I give myself
heart and soul."
With faith my eyes
and trust my heart,
I feel His touch
His loving arms.
With tenderness
He draws me to His side
with warm whisper He breathes
"My love; My bride..."
Upon my cheek
I feel His breath;
Within His presence
I find rest.
I find my Home
in His loving embrace;
He wraps me in
mercy and grace.
He remembers not
my wayward heart;
He dries my tears
offering true love:
"You are my beloved,
with whom I am well pleased;
My love
My lover
be one with Me."
I surrender to Him
willingly
knowing He loves
deeply and endlessly.
I am my Beloved's
my Beloved is mine:
My Lord
My God
My Love Divine...
