During my walk with God over the past 21+ years, I've been drawn to an awareness of how one can misinterpret what God is saying in, or through, the Bible simply by misunderstanding a word or tone in a verse. My attention was drawn to this again today, so I felt the urge to start this page.
To give an example: I remember reading the Old Testament once, and the thought came to me, "Why are you reading everything God says as though He is angry...? Why couldn't His tone be one of heartache...?" And that had me viewing what I was reading through different eyes, and learning to listen for the heart of God with my own heart, rather than with human and limited understanding...
Sometimes we can mishear what is being said when we fail to hear God's heart with our own. While God is all-knowing, and the wisest and most intelligent character I know, :) He is also LOVE. He speaks from His heart to ours; from His Spirit to ours. But we can totally miss what He is saying, and His heart behind His words, if we simply read through the eyes of, or listen with the ears of, our own understanding - be that our understanding of who we think God is or what we think a certain word means. Well, I know I've done that, and I just want to share in the following pages of this section a few verses I've misheard over the years, and why...and I'll keep each blog as short as possible... :) ...starting now... ;) xxx
