No matter how long you've been in a pit of woe, God remains with you. Yes, He sends others along to try to help you get out of the pit, and He gives them strength to help you, but when it comes time for them to move on, God remains.
He does not judge, nor condemn you. He understands where you're at and how you got there - even more than you do... All He desires is to get you out of there and set you free of heartache.
I used to live in such a pit. In fact, I've frequented it several times during the course of my life, and it was God who heard my cry for help, then worked to free me. I struggled against all the good He did at times, because I feared the unknown, I feared what laid beyond the familiarity of fear and pain. But, with love and patience, He raised me up out of there - never judging, never condemning. And I cannot even begin to convey how incredibly blessed and joyful I am on the outside of that pit...
When we place our hands, heart and trust in God, He does not rub His hands together and say, "You beauty... Time to manipulate and control..." No... rather, He sighs with relief and says, "Thank you... Now I am free to bless you..." as any good parent would... So even in the darkest moments, the deepest pits - even if they are created from the consequences of your own choices and actions - God remains true to who He is. He remains faithful in love and grace... and He uses truth to set you free - not to condemn you in any way.
Often - especially when in a pit of woe - we expect our friends to be god, but we fail to allow God to be Friend. Friends cannot be god in your life. But God can be friend... if you allow it.
Call out to Him for help. He is willing to rescue you. Jesus has proven that. God's word emphasises that. Don't allow your heart to overlook that. And trust that this Friend will never let you down... and He will raise you up...
